Demographics and Statistics

Located in New Hanover County, the 5-mile long island of Wrightsville Beach takes up only 1.3% of the total population within. At the last U.S. census, there was an estimated 2,477 full time residents, with many more owning property to use for their own private escapes, or for renting to the masses of vacationers that populate the area during peak months. There may be a small population, but because of the close proximity to Wilmington, expect to find most of those residents lounging on the sand or utilizing the local businesses.
